ERA Vectis door lock repair in Wombwell, Barnsley

Faulty ERA Vectis  lock converted to ERA euro gearbox and upgraded with Ultion WXM ALPS  3-star security

We recently attended a property in Wombwell, Barnsley, where the customer was having intermittent problems locking and unlocking their door.

The existing ERA Vectis hook bolt locking mechanism had become unreliable, and the customer was understandably concerned about eventually being locked either inside or outside the property.

Rather than waiting for the lock to fail, they sensibly decided to have it repaired.

Replacing the ERA Vectis  gearbox

We converted the existing ERA Vectis locking system to a more conventional euro profile gearbox.  The Vectis is a secure arrangement, and adding a standard euro cylinder would not suffice. This is where adding an Ultion WXM ALPS 3-star high-security cylinder comes in
providing an additional security upgrade at the same time.

We fitted and tested both new components to ensure the door locked and unlocked smoothly.

The customer was pleased to have a reliable locking system again, without the expense of replacing the entire door.

Repair rather than replace

This is another good example of why a faulty door lock doesn’t automatically mean you need a replacement door.

By identifying the problem and fitting the correct replacement components, we retained the existing door while improving its security and reliability.

We completed the work and included our two-year parts and labour guarantee.
